Introduction
    The Department of Research was established in 2004. With the purpose of “as a researching strength of TJUPDI ‘s distinctive innovation”, the department undertakes: management of researching projects in connection with TJUPDI, Managing fund for key researching projects, arrangement of academic exchanges at home and abroad, continuous education for staff and collection of planning information, etc.
    Now, the Department has set up good cooperative relations with some Planning Journals such as Urban Planning Forum, Urban Planning International and Shanghai Urban Planning, etc. Besides, the cooperation with some foreign universities including University of Waterloo (Canada), University British Columbia Canada, University of Hong Kong and Tsukuba University (Japan) also lets TJUPDI realize many staff training programs in foreign countries. Additionally, the Department has finished a great many researching subjects assigned by China Association of City Planning, Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology and Shanghai Urban Planning Bureau.
